Jennifer Hildebrand is an independent singer and songwriter based in East Texas.
Even from her early years growing up in rural Arkansas, Jennifer expressed a passion for creating music. Throughout her youth and early adulthood, she became an accomplished vocalist, writing and performing progressive country music throughout the region. But her need for a deeper faith and a closer walk with God soon altered her musical ambitions.
. . . on a personal note . . .
I once heard a quote from a legendary songwriter that went something like this: "You shouldn't write music to get rich or to get famous. If you do, you'll always be disappointed. You write because you can't NOT write." That's especially true for those of us who seek to create music with spiritual relevance. So, I listen, I sing, I write -- all because I can't NOT be immersed in this beautiful medium between the Creator and the created.
God gave the gift of music to move us, inspire us, lift our spirits closer to His. But it wasn't until I was grown (and rather broken) that I began to gain focus on that truth. And, by God's unbelievable mercy, my focus is getting clearer every day. It's that journey that compels me to write, to cry out; and I pray that these sometimes-garbled-mutterings will speak to other souls and help them on their walk of faith.
